TAFT is an ATA (IDE) forensics tool that communicates directly with the ATA controller. It can retrieve various information about a hard disk, as well as look at and change the HPA and DCO settings.
Download the exe file and copy it to a FreeDOS boot floppy. Boot from the floppy and run the tool.
Q: When I run TAFT in Windows it just hangs after I make a menu selection. How come?
A: You must boot from a FreeDOS floppy and run TAFT from there. TAFT isn't a Windows program since it needs free access to the ATA hard disk controller.
