2006.03.05 - I have created a web page with Visual Studio 2005 Problems and Solutions since I have encountered a couple of frustrating problems with it and wanted to share my solutions.

2005.04.23 - FreeBSD SocketShell is shellcode for penetration testing. It binds to TCP port 7777 and returns the string "hacked!" when connected to.

2005.04.22 - Linux SocketShell is shellcode for penetration testing. It binds to TCP port 7777 and returns the string "hacked!" when connected to.

2004.12.15 - A bit of mechanical hacking for a change - watch me pick a Pin Tumbler lock in this short video clip.

2004.10.03 - I've released MobileJavaScanner - a TCP port scanner MIDlet (Java program for cellular phones).

2004.10.01 - I've released JavaCallTester - a MIDlet (Java program for cellular phones) that tries to make a phone call. You can use JavaCallTester to test if your mobile phone warns about it or not (it should by specification).

2004.07.30 - I've released UndeleteSMS, a tool that can recover deleted SMS messages from a GSM SIM card.

2004.07.20 - I've released SIMQuery, a tool that retrieves the ICCID and IMSI from a GSM SIM card.

2004.06.30 - I've released HoneyScripts, which is a collection of very simple and limited scripts for naive honeypots. It comes as open source under a GPL license.

2004.06.17 - A new paper: A guide to how the FreeBSD kernel manages the IA32 processors in Protected Mode.

2004.05.29 - I've released KernView, a kernel module in both FreeBSD and Linux versions for looking at x86 protected mode registers and memory structures. KernView comes as open source under a GPL license.

2003.12.14 - I've released lddTroj, a proof of concept trojan that shows the danger of running the ldd command against potentially dangerous files. lddTroj comes as open source under a GPL license.

2003.12.14 - vidstrom.net is "officially" opened but it will take a while to fill it with something useful. :o)
